“THE ART OF CREATING PROBLEMS THAT WEREN’T EVEN THERE” ~ Confessions of an Over-Thinker…Part 2!

February 27, 2014 by Simon Haggard

Firstly, thank you to everyone who commented on my above blog – how amazing is this community!! That’s not a question, that is a fact – you are all amazing humans.

That said, I continue where I left my above blog ‘To Blog or Not To Blog’ and my paralyses through my fear of failure via comparison to others. I have since learned by definition that ‘atychiphobia’ is the fear of failure, the fear of not being good enough. BAM!! I am in the dictionary. Debbie R made an interesting comment about perfectionism…I have taken that on board and I will not confirm nor deny that it may be so, though only around my work with people 😉 Just check my desk, there is nothing perfect going on there – then again, maybe don’t!

Now that the blog drought is broken…surfs up!! Well that’s perhaps a little ambitious though I am putting it out there 🙂 I find it interesting that once you pop you simply can not stop – ideas are streaming in left right and centre. I have notes everywhere and it drives Simon nuts. That said my ‘atychiphobia’ is still very real and by feedback it’s true for a great deal of us out there. The interesting thing about saying something out loud or in a blog is you find yourself ‘catching your thoughts’ and it’s what happens after you have caught your thought that makes the difference, and potentially where the magic happens.. So, if you have blogged for the first time on this platform, I challenge you to back it up…post again 🙂

One personal empowerment model I love is “Be Do Have”, I know it’s one model our company discuss a lot throughout training calls and our Success Education Program. It is a model I chat to our team about regularly, it is I feel one of the most vital models to really know and implement. So when I consider my ability to really over think my thoughts and fears I ask myself do any of the leadership team sit there not taking the action in their business they need to take because they are too busy comparing themselves to others…ummmm NO – they may feel the fear (they are human after all) yet they do it anyway!

My life has never been the same since I truly got BE DO HAVE. In order for me to move forward and overcome this fear, I really have to identify who it is I am looking to be in my business. Years ago I actually shifted 30kg’s of weight using this model, I say this to not impress you though to impress upon you that it is not just all energy in energy out – mindset is a massive contributor.

So what’s next…

1. Find someone already ‘BEing it (ie someone to model)’ – add this person to my ‘board of directors’

2. DO what this person does – take the same action they take

3. Recognise my wins – acknowledge myself for being less perfect and less comparable

4. HAVE the results I see for my future self.

Where has BE DO HAVE worked for you and where could you implement it?

Kara 🙂

To Blog OR Not To Blog…Confessions of an Over-Thinker!!

February 26, 2014 by Simon Haggard

I was jumping out of my skin when it was announced on the first visionary call of the year that the Alchemy Program had been formed. I couldn’t wait to share with our business associates my excitement in an overview email, I registered immediately for The Alchemy Apprenticeship and could see myself clearly winning the blog writing competition and being flown over to Colorado to hang out with Shane & Rachel prior to the next event.

Yet…it’s been almost a month and I have not submitted a blog entry. There is not a day that goes by that I am not thinking about it and writing down topic ideas. Then I spend a moment beating myself up about it. So, what’s stopping me…?

Lack of Commitment…nahhhh!

Lack of Passion….NO!

Procrastination…warm

Fear…warmer

Failure…warmest

Comparing myself to others…HOT!!

The fear of failure by comparison paralyses me. I don’t believe I have ever said it like that before.

My fear of failure makes for a great quality as an event manager as I triple cross check everything and generally speaking nothing goes wrong as I account for every possible scenario, my goal is to always put on the best event anyone has experienced.  However, that said, in our business with PG and personal life – I am my own stopper.

How am I my own stopper? I am forever comparing myself to others – unfairly, I compare myself to the person at the gym who is the strongest and fastest, I compare myself to the leaders here at PG, wondering am I worthy to be a leader and stand among them. Simon was growing his business with PG when I met him and upon my decision to join him I find myself comparing my ability with his ability to talk with prospects on the phone and his boldness to step out on most calls and just rattle off something clever and inspiring – could I do this that well??…By my own comparison, I always come off second best by my own opinion, and so I remain as I am…believing I am not quite good enough.

What’s my game plan…? I will begin by owning it, owning my quality and turn it around to use it for the greater good. That’s tough, it’s tough because it’s how I reason with myself for not doing or not participating in something. By identifying with my fear of failure, I will be able to monitor my decision making process and call myself on it and now have you guys too call me on it. The beautiful element of this leadership community is having others hold you to a higher standard.

The funny thing is by succumbing to my fear of failure, I am choosing to not participate and thus I am not choosing in…and this results in failure ANYWAY!!! Lose/Lose.

The words I live by are ‘To Lead By Example’ and yet I can feel like a fraud at times.  So, I choose in. I choose to blog and will move to grow beyond my ‘fear of failure by comparison’. I am after all the supreme authority of my own life.

This morning’s call with Helen, Anna and Rachel inspired me, I can’t quite put my finger on it though there in lies just one reason to always (no matter what) PLUG IN to the training calls.

To be continued…

Kara 

“The most important investment you can make is in yourself.”

May 2, 2013 by Simon Haggard

Warren Buffett, one of the smartest and most successful businessmen of our time, was recently asked what he thought was the best investment anyone could make in difficult times.

His answer was fast and simple …

“The most important investment you can make is in yourself.”

That could very well be the best advice Mr. Buffett has ever offered. If ever there was a time to take control of your future, it’s NOW.

A free-falling stock market is jeopardizing the comfortable retirement of millions. Once rock-solid, mainstay companies are struggling to survive. Millions of blue and white-collar jobs are on the line.

And a lot of experts agree — the worst is yet to come.

But there’s a small group of people who have risen above it all.

Those who don’t have to worry about a free-falling stock market, or even if their jobs are going to be there at the end of the day.

In fact, these people don’t even have “jobs” as most people know them.

On a typical day, they’ll wake up, make a cup of coffee, chat with friends, maybe go for a run or get a little exercise …

And when they’re good and ready, they’ll saunter over to their computer and begin their day.

No alarm clocks buzzing. No drive through rush-hour traffic. No bosses looking over their shoulder.

They don’t even have to get dressed if they don’t want to!

Yet they have an opportunity to make much more money than the average full-time “work-a-day” Jane…

$50,000.

$100,000.

$200,000.

Others (who choose to spend more time at it) are making $500,000 a year or more.

Better still, they’re making that kind of money doing fun and interesting “work.” Using their minds and their creativity, while providing an essential, very-much-in-demand service to a $19 billion (and still growing) industry that’s virtually recession-proof.

And it’s all because they took Mr. Buffett’s good advice long before he gave it:

They made a simple, yet all-powerful, investment in themselves that will pay off for them for the rest of their lives.

Those people are us!

Invest In Yourself
Invest In Yourself

We highly recommend you do the same today. Especially today…

What are you waiting for? Enquire how we might be able to assist you…

Are You Really an Entrepreneur?

April 27, 2011 by Simon Haggard

I have a BIG question for you that you have NO choice but to answer if you want to know, without a shadow of doubt, if you will be successful or not.

Here’s how it is …

“Wanna-Be’s” seek a perfect plan and wait for the perfect time. “Entrepreneurs” execute and take action when they see an opportunity. Period. End of discussion.

Entrepreneurs accept educated risk and are able to make big decisions quickly once they have all the information. They make a decision and take some risk. No successful entrepreneur ever accomplished anything significant by playing it safe!

Stop waiting for the perfect time, the perfect opportunity, or the perfect situation. Take decisive action now and stop procrastinating. If you’re stuck in the “Wanna-be” camp, it’s time to get out…and join the “Entrepreneur” camp.

Don’t avoid the question. You deserve to be completely honest with yourself.

So….. which camp are you in?

When you are ready to join the “Entrepreneurs”.
I’m here to assist you.

Take The Entrepreneurial Leap and Stop Climbing The Corporate Ladder

April 21, 2011 by Simon Haggard

How important it is to take the entrepreneurial leap and

stop climbing the corporate ladder.

Now that you’re ready to take action and leave the daily grind
behind, how are you going to find the right, profitable, legitimate
business?

First, beware of business advertisements that make unrealistic promises, selling you on the concept of “overnight wealth and success”.

When you find someone with a business that interests you, spend a
little time to get to know the person. Ask the right questions and
be sure their business offers the following 3 things:

1. Profitable Products

Look for high-priced, big profit products that deliver exceptional
value. Why? Because it will take you the same amount of time, money
and energy to sell a product with a small commission as it will to
sell a product that can make you several thousand per sale.
2. Back-End Sales

Make sure the business has a back-end product line that increases
in price, value, and profit. Why? Because your repeat customers
will make you bigger profits on their second, third and fourth
purchases.
3. Residual Income

It is important that you are rewarded, as a business owner, and have
the opportunity to create true wealth. The only way true wealth is
created is through passive, residual income. That’s income that you
do not have to work for everyday. That’s true financial freedom.

In the meantime, if you want to see an example of a business with
high-profit products, serious back-end potential, plus residual income, contact us!

What Is It That People Look For? Think…..

March 28, 2011 by Simon Haggard

• WHY are people constantly looking for something better
• HOW MUCH of an income you would like to earn in the next 12 months
• WHAT that money is for and what your lifestyle would look like when you reach that goal

We’ve learned a few things over the years about wealth creation and one of them is this:
If you don’t know what the money’s for…you CAN’T GET THE MONEY!

People don’t really want the money. They want what the money will DO.
• It’s about not missing your children’s sporting events because you had to work late
• It’s about not seeing your spouse going to a job they hate every day
• It’s about getting out of that crowded apartment into a house Or out of that house and into a dream home!

What’s YOUR motivation?

Once we are clear on what you are looking to achieve, the rest is easy.

Entrepreneurs Make Bold Decisions In Life In Order To Create Success.

August 5, 2010 by Simon Haggard

Make Bold decisions in life which allow you to move forward . Well how do you do this? Identify the decision for you and what is it you want, then gather the information so you can then start the move forward! Source : BFE

Decisions are important because they are what we use to direct our life and a tool to create everything we have and experience. Bring about self confidence and self esteem! Source: BFE

Lean from the experts!
Why continuous learning? Consider these facts…

1) The average person will increase their salary by only 2-3% annually.

2) Each year inflation increases by approximately 2-3% annually.

3)That means that, without lifelong learning, it’s virtually impossible for the average person to get ahead.
However…

1) Top Achievers, people who are continually learning and growing, DOUBLE their income every 3-5 years.

2) This is why the top 10-20% earns more than the bottom 80%! To separate yourself from the pack, you often need to know just one additional skill…and that will make all the difference in your pay scale.

Make Decisions Today to Have FUN!

Finding Your North Star & Asking Your Future Self

April 29, 2010 by Simon Haggard

What Is It For You?…

1. Statistics show that the common denominator between successful people is that just days before their business or life exponentially increased and began showing signs of improvement, they felt futility of their hard work and had ‘thoughts’ at one time or another of stopping….but thankfully they didn’t!

Imagine this for yourself!

Don’t quit, even when it feels like hard work, or you’re under valuing your efforts and your self critique is high. Keep going, you could just be nearing the ‘Breakthrough’ to your own Success!

2. Entrepreneurs believe in themselves, even when no one else does, and, they cannot explain why they believe in themselves because it’s a faith that comes from inside beyond words or justification.

Every time a successful business person is interviewed and asked ‘what kept you going’ or ‘what made you know this was a winner?’, the answer is the same……..’I believed it could happen and then I found the way to make it happen’.

Believe in yourself, even if no one else does. Dare to allow your dreams be the barometer that guides you from week to week as you discover your way to success.

Success is different for everyone, so don’t compare what other’s are doing as their dreams are theirs and Your Dreams are Yours. Your dreams are no less important than any one else’s!

Are You Stuck In The Herd…..I Was And Was Not Aware Of It Either!

April 24, 2010 by Simon Haggard

As humans there has been much discussion and documentation to suggest that we get caught up in “the herd” and are in fact a part of “the herd”.  People within “the herd” demonstrate herd like behavior and do not like to see others attempt to move faster or breakaway from the herd, this creates fear and uncertainty amongst the group.

When considering to no longer be a part of the JOB/EMPLOYED Herd, not only do we have to deal with critiques from others in the JOB/EMPLOYED Herd we may have left, we also have to deal with the naysayers because, when we leave the JOB/EMPLOYMENT, we’re leaving the herd.

I personally have never been one to be in agreeance with others all the time, however allowed myself to be caught up in the herd and with the masses. I continually strived for success by working harder and longer to achieve the result I was looking to achieve.

The problem with this was that someone else was in control; gave the direction, then did not follow through; set the targets, without a plan and raise the bar increasing the goals, then moving the goal posts.

I realised I deserved more, deserved better in life than where I was. I was not going to achieve what I wanted to achieve. So I went in search of something that was going to allow me to live the life I was looking to create. Be in control!

It was evident to me that when I decided to depart from the herd, some of my close friends and work associates made fun of and mocked my decision to  go it alone. I felt that many of these close friends and work associates were surprised with the choices and decisions I was making and would like nothing more than for me to stay within the herd!

My actions make them question themselves, can the grass be greener? Could this lead me to greater pastures elsewhere? These individuals want me to stay with them in the herd, that way they too can feel strength within themselves and that they then played some role in the sabotage of my opportunity. Self sabotage is an instinct that many individuals unknowingly undertake on themselves and project onto others, when faced with challenges or uncertainty in life. Many individuals will do whatever it takes to keep others apart of their very own herd, which makes them feel in control, that they are a leader and influencer within this herd.

I chose to leave the herd; so your comments and criticism I chose to not allow into my world.

I choose today to stand alongside and on the shoulders of Entrepreneurs!

What can you do to make changes in your life to get out of the HERD?

What Does It Take In Order To Make A Change

April 6, 2010 by Simon Haggard

Well the Question Asked By Many….

In your quest for abundance, whether it be spiritual, financial, emotional, etc…who do you listen to?

Most people listen to others who are NOT successful…people who are negative and disbelieving of happiness and joy. My question to you is: Who do you listen to?

I suggest that if you want to be happier than you’ve ever been, enjoy the highest level of emotional well-being, experience dynamic physical health and realize financial freedom that you listen to those who have already achieved all that.

Wow! What a concept…listen to those who already have what you want.

You know all those wealthy and happy people that are propped up in our society? They didn’t get there by listening to people who are not living their dreams. They got there by listening to those who are living their dreams.

If you can finally grasp this secret of success, you are one step closer to achieving all that you’ve ever dreamed.
