Australian Entrepeneurs Learn About Building Confidence Whilst In Puerto Rico…

October 26, 2009 by Simon Haggard

Our Adventure Began!

Nyssa and I have just returned from an amazing overseas adventure again. We took our opportunity to fly my Mother In law down from Mackay to look after the kids at our house and then we took off to commence our Adventure in the States then onto the tropical island of Puerto Rico! We had an absolute blast travelling BusIMG_6201iness class on QANTAS directly to LA. On arrival into LA we had arranged the hire of a Convertible Car which we then drove to Las Vegas.

The trip in the convertible took approx 5 hrs to Las Vegas and we stayed at the Wynn Hotels Encore Hotel. Magnificent is all I can say. We spent an amazing 4 nights seeing shows and checking out the sights. We had an amazing experience with a spectacular 3.5hr Helicopter ride into the Grand Canyon with a Champagne Lunch at the base of the Grand Canyon. This was a great start to out trip and we especially loved the Premium Factory Outlets and loved spending a day shopping for cloths of course. Next Stop Puerto Rico……

The weather was perfect and the resort we stayed at was what we had pictured with awesome views. We stayed at the El Conquistador in Fajardo in the Las Casitas section of the resort. Our room was a one bedroom with a living area and kitchen. It had a patio that overlooked the ocean from up high on the tropical ocean side cliff. The view was both inspiring and breath taking!

So while were were there, our days looked like this:

Saturday – We arrived at the San Juan airport and were greeted by our transportation to the resort by a woman holding a sign with our name on it. We identified our luggage and didn’t have to touch it from that point on. We had a Luxury SUV pick us up for the hour long ride to the El Conquistador resort in Fajardo. We ate lunch on a balcony that overlooked the ocean with other self-made millionaires and multiple 6-figure earners in my business opportunity. We hung out at the infinity pool most of that day, just soaking up the sun. That night we went kayaking through a jungle channel which contained Bio-luminescent micro plankton.(I’ll tell you more about that later! Awesome!) After kayaking we hung out with fellow friends overlooking the inspiring view from the balcony of our accommodation.

Sunday – We paid a visit to the Resorts Day Spa Facilities. There we soaked in the Hot Tub and Sauna  while Nyssa took the opportunity also to pamper herself. The afternoon was followed by a Duo massage where both Nyssa and I were massaged at the same time in a private room by our own massuse. OMG how amazing this was, totally relaxing and inspiring. Later that night we had a private catered dinner in one of the top steak restaurants in the country called the StripHouse which overlooked the channel and cove we kayaked to on Saturday night. This dinner was followed by a small get-together for other leaders within my business called “The Repeaters party.”

Monday – We attended a Large Team event prior to the opening where we were able to catch up with and chat to people from all over the world. Monday night we attended a welcome reception to the event we were there to attend. We ate buffet style and were entertained by great local music and were accompanied by awesome company in the over 1,000 strong attendees.

Tuesday – Motivational Speaker Yossi Ghinsberg was our first speaker of the conference. If you have never heard Yossi speak, do it. He is amazing. Following Yossi we heard from Steve Donahue and his uncharted journey across the desert. That night was followed by a woderfull dinner with friends, then Later that night we watched the a NEW documentary that is soon to be released by our company POLARIS MEDIA GROUP featuring Michael Jr.

Wednesday – We heard from our final speaker, Neal Petersen, on Wednesday morning. He was an amzig energetic speaker. We spent our entire afternoon by the infinity pool sipping Pina Colada’s whilst relaxing. That night we attended a black tie gala to bring the conference to a close. The steak melted in your mouth..it was sensational. Nyssa and I spent much of the night socializing with others and having fun. Great stuff. We danced the night away to a band that was the best I have seen in a long time. After which we soaked it up in the hot tub by the infinity pool with amazing outrageous friends. What a great way to close out the event.

Thursday – Our car came to pick us up at 8:20 am, just as the Tropical showers came and went. Our Adventure here was coming to a close, till the next part. I tell you what…the best place to ride is in the back of a nice private car! Our trip to the airport was just as relaxing as our trip to the resort, before boarding the plan 1st class to Newark, New Jersy then on to LA.

So onto the next short adventure before heading home. That was our experience in Puerto Rico. It was amazing, life changing and inspiring and at this very moment, I am going through some withdrawals, wanting to be apart of that life everyday. So what a perfect trip and our adventure was not over just yet!

Friday – We had arrived and stayed the night in LA after a day of 1st Class service at the pointy end of the plane. Now we had a day to spend some time doing what we do best and love……..SHOP….so we arranged a private car to pick us up at 11:00am, and take us to RODEO Drive Beverley Hills. Made Famous in the movie Pretty Women. Our Adventure here was short lived after we found our Favourite store GUESS, then onto the local shopping centre. I tell you what…shopping with freedom and enjoyment is awesome! Our driver collected us and took us on a trip back to the hotel .

Well agreat adventure must come to a close as we boarded our QANTAS flight home bound for Brisbane and it was not long and we both were asleep in our flat beds in Business class for the trip home. Till next time …..we look forward to the next adventure in March 2010 to be held by POLARIS MEDIA GROUP in Macau, China.

How To Find A Home Based Business !

April 15, 2009 by Simon Haggard

The search for a home business can be frustrating at times; as we all know, there are tons of home businesses out there. The question is which one is the right fit for you? And how do you find it? Well, I put together some simple steps for you to keep in mind while seeking your business opportunity. These are the same steps, the same principles we used when we were searching & researching a home business to assist in changing our lives. So here it is…

1- FEEL GOOD ABOUT THE BUSINESS: You should feel good about the company, product, and business. If you are simply chasing dollars, it will work against you. Love the business, love the product, be passionate about the difference and benefit you can bring to the table with your new business. Feel good about it!

2- DO PROPER DUE DILIGENCE: Now when I say “Due Diligence” I don’t mean go talk to people and get their opinions. That is not proper due diligence. Because, anytime you attempt to better yourself, or even think outside your box, you WILL have people knock down your idea. We’ll call them “Dream Stealers”. See, they would rather knock you down or hope you fail, so it justifies their lack of motivation, it justifies the fact that they have settled…The are other forms of opinions that will come across in a professional manner during your research. This is where you should be extremely careful! It will fool people quite a bit. There is one very simple way to identify it. We’ll call it “mud-slinging”… If someone is “Mud-Slinging”, ask the same question I asked…. Why? What is the motivation behind there comments? Always research the source… Usually it is because they have something else to sell you. Be very cautious around any product or business that promotes based on “mud-slinging”… If they have to tell you how bad everyone else is, they may not have to many good things to tell about themselves. Research and find information that does not have a reason to steer you in any way. Research your research.

Simply, find the business you like…Talk to other people in the business/company. Call the main office/corporate offices during business hours to confirm real people are in a real corporate office running a real business. Learn what is truly possible with that business. What kind of results are people having, and do you believe you can achieve YOUR goals in that particular business… This is how you determine if there is a fit. Trust your instincts, get fired up!

3- FIND YOUR MENTOR: Find someone that you can trust. A person who has created the very thing you are looking to create. This should be someone who is willing to listen to you and your goals and cares about your success. More importantly, you are willing to listen and learn from this person as well. Also very important, he/she must have a financial interest in your success.

4- MAKE SURE THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE WITHIN THE TEAM/ORGANIZATION WHO ARE HAVING SUCCESS WITH THE SAME BUSINESS MODEL: Ask to be introduced to some of the other people within the team or organization, in person or by telephone. This is where most will come up short, look for the trail of success!

5- MAKE SURE THE PRODUCTS BEING SOLD ARE LEGITIMATE STAND ALONE PRODUCTS: Make sure these products are something that would sell by itself, something that holds the value of the price tag. If not, you will have a hard time creating duplication in your business and will have a huge impact on you residual income. Besides, referring back to step one… You want to feel good and have confidence about what you are selling. There are a lot of legitimate businesses out there with legitimate products. Find the one that gets you fired up!

6- MAKE SURE THE TEAM/ORGANIZATION YOU ARE WORKING WITH HAS A TURNKEY MARKETING SYSTEM IN PLACE THAT ANYONE CAN DUPLICATE: A complete business, fool proof system that anyone can duplicate. If the company relies on recruiting family and friends, you might want to run! You should seek a reliable way to get quality prospects in front of what you are offering.

7- ACCEPT THE RESPONSIBILITY: The last, but most important step of all… One of the main reasons people fail in home business is this reason right here… Self-Responsibility. They do not accept the responsibility; they think the “System” will create the success by itself. This is not true. Consider the business you find as a vehicle, a vehicle that can take you any place you would like to go. However, you must get in and drive yourself! Understand that you are going into business for yourself. Your results are completely up to you. Yes, find the business that fits you, and plug into the business model/system, but the work is up to you. Any legitimate business out there WILL tell you it takes effort. If someone tells you can have it all for nothing, then RUN LIKE THE WIND! It is completely up to you… Success is a choice, your choice.

I’m sure these 7 steps will assist you in your search for your home business. I will pass on one more piece of advice from a very good friend and mentor; we can call it bonus step 8! And it applies no matter what you choose to do in your life…

Always…

Believe in yourself, Believe in what you do,

Live your life like a champion!

DO WHAT IFS HOLD YOU BACK ?

April 13, 2009 by Simon Haggard

How many times in your life have you wanted to do something and you said “yes, but…what if?…..” It is so common for most people to live their life this way…..

This is just one of many phrases that have been drilled into our brains growing up….we have been “conditioned” to think this way, however, that does not mean it is the RIGHT way to think!

But, here is the exciting news….you don’t have to keep thinking that way! Living your life by the “what if’s” means you will not take chances, that you are fearful, that you miss out on incredible experiences, and opportunities in every area of life. Really, the “what if’s” are just fear based excuses.

Most of these “what if’s” NEVER come true…..but people waste so much time and energy playing their lives “safely” just in case, that life passes them by and they wonder what happened to all the possibilities….they wonder why they didn’t experience more, they wonder why their life wasn’t what they wanted it to be.

It is never too late….anyone can take a firm stand for what they want in their lives, and make a bold decision to move past the excuses, the “what if’s“, and start living the type of life they want and start experiencing all the things that are possible.

We are surrounded by abundance every single day….some people will choose to see it, embrace it and be a part of it….others will stand by frozen in their past conditioning and keep “waiting” for the perfect timing for something they want to be, do or have…these are the people that get to old age and wonder what happened?

It is all a choice….

Make It A Great Year,

Simon Haggard

The Story of the Cows & Rhinos

April 10, 2009 by Simon Haggard

This is little story of the cows and rhinos. Of course I can’t take credit
for this it was developed by Scot Alexander, but here is my adapted version
of it.

There once was a herd of cows out in this cow pasture. And of course there
was grass and manure all over the place. But out in the middle of this herd
of cows was this rhino, and he was totally out of place. Six thousand pounds
of muscle; and thick armor of skin, with this big horn sticking out of his
head. And the rhino wanted to leave the cow pasture and go to the promise
land. And off into the distance you can see the promise land. But to get to
the promise land you must first go through the jungle. The jungle is filled
with thorns, quicksand and hunters; but the rhino has that 6 inch thick
skin.

Contrary to the better judgment of the cows, and some of these seem to be
very learned cows; the rhino leaves the cow pasture. And won’t you know it
there’s adversity, hunters shooting at him, quicksand etc. Eventually the
rhino meets up with some other rhinos and they say to him we’ll help you get
through the jungle. There will still be some adversity but we’ll show you
where the quicksand is and you don’t have to walk into the arrows, right?
It’ll still be a bit of a struggle but we’ll help you to make it a nicer
ride.

Eventually our rhino friend makes it through the jungle and to the promise
land. And there is your wonderful Starbucks establishment; just kidding.
What does our rhino do? Jumps back into the jungle. Why? To help the other
fledgling rhinos get through the jungle.

And then one day when as our rhino is relaxing, laying in his mud hole, he
notices other rhinos coming out of the jungle. One by one they’re coming out
of the jungle and he asks where are these rhinos coming from? And in a
moment of clarity he realizes it must be the cow pasture. These rhinos were
actually cows it’s just that they had been conned into believing they were
cows. So convincingly that they even looked like cows, and even smelled like
cows.

We’re all rhinos. We were born risk takers; all this self imposed
limitations, is all just a story.

Quoting from John Lavenia’s book; Integrity is Everything “What stops people from getting started in any worthy endeavor? The simple answer is fear. Fear of failure, fear of making a mistake, fear of success (worthiness). But the biggest and most persistent enemy of productive action is fear of criticism! People don’t commit to taking action because they fear criticism. Criticism from their friends, family and neighbors. The driving force behind most people’s decision making is: wanting to look good, and avoiding looking bad. This is a very fear-based way to live. Seeking approval from ignorant well-meaning people has crippled more potential greatness than anything I’ve
witnessed……I heard a very learned man once say, “Don’t worry about what
your neighbors think, they probably don’t.””

Learn to just Love(n) (in) the MOMENT!

To Your Success,

Simon Haggard
